00年結成。01年にデモを作成。 ライブハウスを中心に好調なセールスを記録。02年”bandstarter”で、2万枚の売り上げを記録し、注目を集める。翌03年にはWRONG SCALE とのスプリット”Night In Gale”をリリー ス。スプリット作品としては異例の1万枚セールスを記録。 そして、04年にFULL ALBUM”Delivered from the past”をリリース、HOLSTEINの音楽性を確立させ、現在までに約3万枚のセールスを数える。 その後、FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL、ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL等に参加。06年に single「sirence reverb/BONDS」には1時間半に及ぶライブ映像、RECの様子などが収められ話題を呼んだ。 しかし、新作制作中の07年春に前ベース小林が脱退。一時活動休止状態となる。 新ベーシストとして金田雅史(MIRROR,9dw)、2本目のギターとして鳥居大(RetromaniA)が加入。本格的にライブ活動再開となった本年、蓮沼2008、八食SUMMER FES2008、RUSH BALL2008等のフェスに招聘されるなど、 今後の活動にも注目を集めている。 そして、第2期HOLSTEINとして、5人体制として初の名刺代わりの新作が08年10月にリリースとなる。
